Cindi had joined my 30-Day June Room Challenge but wasn’t able to complete, so when my 30-Day August Upgrade Challenge rolled around, she was game!
Here’s what her bedroom and closet looked like before.
In Cindi’s Own Words
“We painted the closet a warm cream color (it had dark paneling), installed a new bead board ceiling to cover the old plaster ceiling that was dusty, crumbly and and ugly (I had stapled plastic and fabric over it to protect my clothes), installed a Rubbermaid Configurations closet system on both sides of the closet, painted the wood floor. Now I have three tiers of hanging on the left and two on the right as you walk in the closet. The back wall will just have shelves, and the old lamp that hung in there for the last thirty odd years is being replaced by with a cute pendant light (still waiting for delivery, but, have a cute lamp in there for now).”
“I totally love my bedroom now! The first and biggest thing I (we) did was totally re-do my small walk in closet. That set the tone for the rest of the room. I was tired of clothes piled everywhere. Now I have an organizer in my closet that works. I just got the hardware for the back wall shelves in the mail Friday afternoon, so hope to add them on Saturday.
The rest of the bedroom meant sorting and cleaning and sorting some more, but now it feels calm and we have lots more room. Every morning before I leave the house and every evening before I go to bed, I make sure that everything is neat and tidy.”~Cindi
There’s nothing like having a relaxing, clean place to put your feet up at the end of the day. I’m a big believe in the philosophy that if you clean as you go, you never have to clean :).
Great job, Cindi!
