Not only did I find the most awesome pair of little boy’s Batman rain boots today (which I have listed on eBay, but if they don’t sell, will probably keep for one of my ‘lil guys):
Seriously, how cool is this dresser?! Only $45.00!! I immediately envisioned it with lovely Annie Sloan paint slathered all over her, with beautiful new handles. Hmm….antique white? Pale blue? The possibilities are endless here…. And I had the perfect spot in my bedroom for it….But first….I knew I had to do some serious
But first….I knew I had to do some serious negotiating: Always ask to buy it, even if there is a SOLD tag on it. Ummm….yeah….didn’t work for me today. I damn near begged and pleaded, and tried to coerce. LOL. I wasn’t going to walk out of there without a good fight!
I chased down every employee, asking if it was “really” sold, or if it was still up for grabs. I mean, the rule is, if a customer hadn’t paid within 30 minutes of wanting it, it would be re-sold. But no one could prove if it was paid for or not. And really, I’m sure I was being a super-pest, but hey, for the sake of that dresser, it’s the price I would have to pay, bugaboo or not!
To make a long story short, I didn’t get the dresser. 🙁
I will need to go back tomorrow to see if it’s still there; if the customer actually comes to get it. Cross your fingers for me!
I also saw these amazingly solid wood chairs, for that dining table that I picked up for $12.00 recently, but the styles were so different, and the chairs too heavy and bulky, I knew they would overpower the table. For $25 (with 25% off), not bad…..but didn’t fit in with my decor. Oh well…..
It’s one of my favorite thrift store finds!
