POLL: Where Are the Best Thrift Stores?

Love this post? Share it! :)

Where do you all go thrift diving? I’ve been busy in the blogosphere, talking to other like-minded thrift divers, and just sharing projects and blog comments! (So much fun!!!)

via

And someone on Twitter asked me, “Do you know where the best thrift stores are in Minneapolis, by any chance? I’m going to be visiting there soon.”

Dang! I don’t know! But because I’m always thinking of ways to grow this blog so that it’s totally valuable to my readers (all 100 of y’all, hahaha), I reeaaaaallllly want to create a database of some sort, so that people here know where to find the best thrift stores, regardless of any state!

What do you think??

But I can’t do it alone!

So…………don’t be shy! 🙂 Please leave a comment below, telling:

Your Favorite Thrift Store:

1. What’s the NAME of your favorite thrift store? (What state?)

2.  WHERE is it located? (e.g. state)

3.  What do you LIKE about it? What do you DISLIKE?

And once responses, I’m going to create a page so that you all know where to go, and we can all share!

Sounds good?

Awesome!  Now leave a comment 🙂

  1. Salvation Army – state road 436 Casselberry, FL. They’re clean, priced fair and have a good selection of clothes and household items.

  2. I posted this on FB today:

If you live in MD, DC, VA, DE, TX, or OK—- Check out The Thrift Store Family, which is a group of 18 thrift stores that are part of a network of thrift stores. Looks like they run coupons, $5 off of a $25 purchase sometimes.

    Also, they have discounts:

25% EARLY BIRD Special every SATURDAY
    25% MILITARY Discount every day
25% SENIOR Citizen Discount every Monday
50% Manager’s Discount on certain items

  3. Diane, I thought the DI was supposed to be the happenin’ spots for good deals?? There are a lot of DIY bloggers out there from Utah that are getting, like, $4 chairs and stuff, and I’m always amazed! Thanks for the tips!

Ladyeeyore7–Awesome info! I’ll be sure to include them! 🙂

  4. ARC Thrift and Family Thrift in Colorado. ARC has Tuesdays senior day 50% on 4 tag colors. Family Thrift has senior day 50% on all but 1 tag color on Wednesdays.

  5. ARC Thrift and Family Thrift in Colorado. ARC has Tuesdays senior day 50% on 4 tag colors. Family Thrift has senior day 50% on all but 1 tag color on Wednesdays.

  6. Not too much in Utah, the DI has stores in many locations across Utah but the prices can be crazy. I love the Salvation Army and I love supporting an organization that does so much for people. I am not sure why it is so hard to find good deals in Utah but it is. I do like the Re-store on 13th south in Salt Lake City, great prices it is just hit and miss.

  7. Wow, Kathe, 99 cent jeans?! I hope they’re not MOM JEANS! *gasp* LOL. And I sooo am loving that 50% deal your thrift store has! I can’t find the 50% off deal too often. And when it does happen–you would think it was Black Friday! It’s crazy! Thanks for posting! I was hoping for more comments, but not much so far! :-\

  8. Goodwill at Leetsdale & Elm in Denver rarely lets me down. The Goodwill stores here in the Denver Metro area have a 50% most everything every other week or so with .99 jeans.
ARC Thrift Stores are a Colorado thrift chain and they are 50% off most things every weekend. They have increased their pricing though so it’s harder to find that good deal there anymore.

  9. Haven’t been here yet, but I’m dying to go! Highly recommended:

    Film Biz Prop Shop
    540 President St. Basement
    Brooklyn, NY 11215
    347-384-2336

I haven’t been there yet, but am dying to go! They feature props from movies that are now for sale. I heard the prices are reasonable!!

  10. The name and location of my favorite thrift stores are:

    a. Unique Thrift and Value Village, located in Silver Spring, MD. They are one huge warehouse, with both stores combined.

    b. As I said above, they’re in Silver Spring, but Unique also has locations nationally. Go here to see if there is one in your neighborhood:

    c. The BEST is that they’re huge and have lots of turnover. You find different stuff if you went each day! And they have discount days on Mon. and Thurs. The WORSE is that they can be a bit pricey at times, and it can get super crowded on holidays when they offer 50% off!
