How to Make a DIY Drink Holder
I wish my arms were twice as long so that I could reach behind and pat myself on the back! HA
I know… pride is sinful, but sometimes you create something that makes you want to raise your Power Tools Prowess flag and wave that mug in the air like you just don’t care!
And this is one of those moments. That’s how I feel about this DIY drink holder (with a snacks compartment) that I made this weekend, guys!

RYOBI Nation must like me because they asked me to submit monthly projects to RYOBI Nation, which is an awesome place to get woodworking and building project ideas.
September’s theme is FANtastic Sports so I wanted to create something that I’d love to personally use.
Lately I’ve been using a lot more power tools and doing more building projects, so I was stoked to get started (but it’s still hard to maneuver around the old baby crib and other junk in there! LOL

I pulled together my materials as best as I could and made a DIY drink holder!
How cool is this for hosting game nights and parties at your house?!
(You’ll have to overlook the shots with empty root beer bottles… Sometimes DIY is just like that when you need a pretty picture!)

I can’t wait to show you how I made this and why this was such an important project for me (along with the awesome layering of stain I did to make this DIY drink holder look a bit weathered)!
(Let’s just say the learning curve was steep, y’all!)

We are smack dab in the middle of combining two households and remodeling, so we would put the saw to really good use! Many, many, too many projects!
I think your drink holder is awesome. A little bit of pride will be forgiven for sure. It’s awesome! When I was little we lived in Germany. When we came back to the states my parents brought back this really pretty painting on canvas. But it wasn’t framed and never has been. My dad is now 75 and I would love to make a frame for the painting!
I would make anything and everything! But the very first thing i would make is a bench made out of my 2 babies old crib.
I’ve seen some of the RYOBI products before but I wasn’t all that familiar with the company. I was curious and wanted to learn more so I did a little investigation. I’ve learned that RYOBI is one of the world’s largest and most innovative manufacturers. They have built a reputation by manufacturing products that will expand our capabilities. I’ve also learned that they offer affordable power tools for homeowners, woodworkers, outdoor enthusiasts, hobbyists, craftspeople, and contractors. This is an awesome giveaway! My dad was a carpenter so I was surrounded by lots of power tools growing up. I was a daddy’s girl so I love working with tools. There are so many projects that I would love to make with this beautiful sliding miter saw. I would used the saw on my DIY home renovation projects such as outdoor furniture, planter boxes, door and window frames, to making pretty crown moldings etc. I have so many projects, under my belt, that I need to complete. Maybe with the right tool I can complete these projects. I love the drink holder you made. What a cute, fun and simple project to make.
I’ve been a long time “Facebook Creeper” of your amazing, AMAZING, finds and redos. After careful consideration, the thing is most make with this saw is an amazing hanging book shelf / square system to showcase my daughter’s Lego creations. She dreams of being a marine biologist, but also an artist. She saves and saves her money to buy Lego sets, and wants them displayed proudly in her room. I in vision a fluid build that will allow for different shapes but also as she grows older; space for things like animal models, DNA sequence, and a collection of trinkets.
I have a LONG LIST of things I want to redo, and there is a fabulous dresser I snagged for $20 in my garage waiting for me.
Thank you for offering this, and good luck to all those that enter!!
I would use it to frame some cross stitch pictures and make some window boxes for my house.
OMIGOSH!!! I would do amazing things! Most importantly to me, I would create a memory box of my brother. He passed away in Iraq, and I have kept all of his things in a rubbermaid container. My grandmother made me a pillow out of his clothes that I have been afraid to leave out for fear of ruining it, so I would create a box shape but with a slide out plastic piece so that I could tuck the pillow into it. That way I can look at it often with no fear! I would have a pull out drawer above that to slide his letters into and some newspaper clippings, and photos. The sides would also have an indented spot like a memory box to fill with things. The top would have cut outs like what you did-where I could have meaningful things that wont be damaged sticking out. Goodness, just planning this in my head has me ready to go buy one if I don’t win!! ๐
Thanks for this opportunity. 2 projects on my list. Herb drying frames and flower boxes to grow the herbs.
I have tons of projects I would use this for! Stair treads, banister remodel and bathroom remodel to just name few! I am so ready to get started and having the right tools is so important. I am always trying to find someone that has compound saw to borrow and would love to have one for my many projects!!
i would use it for crown moulding all over my house and also to make bookshelves. My books are overflowing!
