Yeah, I am!!
I’m sitting at a sports bar at the San Antonio airport, with old school Sade songs blasting through the speakers. Songs I haven’t heard in ages. And with a waitress that borders on rude but who keeps calling people “sugar” and “honey.”
I flew in this week for a work conference for my “day job,” thousands of miles away from my homestate of Maryland. It’s hot, it’s humid. It’s sticky.
I wasn’t excited about coming because I kept thinking of 10,000 things that needed done at home.
But I have to admit–no kids screaming my name every few minutes in hopes I come rescue them from their siblings’ assaults…..no hubby whining about me camped out in front of my computer…. no projects whispering like ghosts when I have left them unattended:”Come work on meee….come wwwooorrrkkk on mmmeeee!”…..
It’s been amazingly relaxing.
I even started Gone Girl after having been on my book shelf for at least a year and a half. I’m proud to say I’m down to my last few chapters. I haven’t been able to put it down! It’s a great read, and to my pleasant surprise, the “Gone Girl” movie starts tonight! I rarely hit up the movies, but this one I’m excited to see!
My mom is coming to stay with me for the weekend. I’m rescuing her from her caregiving role (my grandmother has Alzheimer’s). Hopefully it’s going to be a weekend of crafting, thrift diving, and maybe working on my fall porch!
So it’s time to kick off our next 30-day challenge! But because I’m a bit late in posting this, consider it the 27-day challenge ;).
We’ve spent a lot of time indoors, transforming our rooms, but now, it’s time to focus on making the outside of our homes look beautiful.
For this challenge, pick an outdoor space and devote the month of October giving it an overhaul. I found this pair of roadside chairs FREE last weekend. I’m imagining brilliant yellow, with plump pumpkins stacked on top, complimenting my new deep red door. Oooohhhh..
What ideas do you have for your space?
Let’s do this!
