I’ve decided to do some lead testing in the house. It was built 1973, and with the wooden windows, as well as the wallpaper I would like to remove, I think it’s best we get a test to see what we’re working with. We also have 2 young kids. And last but not least, it will help determine what sort of contractors we can have come in to work on our home. According to a recent law passed April 2010, anyone remodeling a house (i.e. contractors) are supposed to have at least one person lead certified if the house is built prior to 1978.
This leads me to lead concerns about our windows, as well as that hideous wallpaper and if there could be lead paint lurking behind there. I guess the lead assessment will tell us! He’s coming Monday at 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $425 for the whole house.
