I have to admit that Misti’s family room makeover that she did for my 30-Day September Room Makeover challenge is my favorite!
Not only because it’s dramatic, but because it’s my favorite color: turquoise!
Before she started, this room looked sort of what most sitting rooms become: playrooms with toys everywhere and no real focus of the room (same thing for mine!).
This is how the room started out.
But you won’t believe how awesome it looks now!!
Misti’s Mid-Century Modern Living Room Makeover – In Her Own Words
“I wanted a nice family room we could sit and talk and the kids could play and I could be in there and work while I can watch them play.My husband and I have a heart for vintage especially midcentury so that’s kind of the look that I was going for. Almost everything in the room is secondhand that we found at thrift stores or vintage shops. The chairs we recovered in that gray wool and they are SO much better! We know have an organized family room that we all can enjoy!”
And those chairs!!!
Can you believe she only paid $5.00 for them???
Here’s what they looked like BEFORE:
She reupholstered them because this fabric was a bit yucky.
I love the “AFTER” gray fabric!
I’m in love with this room, and I think if she sent those chairs to me, I’d be even happier. 🙂 But I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon. LOL
Well done, Misti!!!
