I have never really enjoyed decorating for holidays, including DIY Halloween crafts, despite having kids and knowing how much they’d enjoy it!

I have spent all my time prettying up the basics around the house, the last thing I ever wanted was to spend time decorating pumpkins!

But after participating in The Home Depot Style Challenge, where they sent me a box of Halloween decor and challenged me to decorate my front door, I had the most fun putting it all together!

Stay tuned, because tomorrow I’ll share with you how it all turned out!

In the meantime, check out some of the coolest Halloween DIY crafts from my blogger friends!

Pretty Halloween Mantel

My friend, Jeanie, from Create and Babble, is a master Silhouette crafter and DIYer. If you don’t know what a Silhouette is, it’s a personal cutting machine that cuts out cute shapes in vinyl…paper…you name it.

It’s around holidays like Halloween where crafters all over the world are breaking out their Silhouettes and creating pretty mantel decor like these frames Halloween frames and vinyl wall decals!

What’s fun is that I made a large DIY Halloween spider from plywood and crib parts.

  1. Oh these ideas are awesome! I am not good at doing crafts but I may venture into some of these.

  2. Love these ideas my friend! I am not so much a Halloween person but after seeing these fun ideas I’m motivated to do more 🙂 Thanks for including my pumpkin in your round up too!

    1. I’ve felt the same way as you, Wendi! I have loved Halloween, because it’s fun (and hey–the kids get us parents TONS of candy. LOL). But after decorating, I really think I am a reformed non-holiday decorator! I really enjoyed decorating this year, and the kids loved it, too! It will be sad to take them down after Halloween!

  3. But…but…what if I’m afraid of giant black spiders?

Kidding! I love Halloween and I’m dying to see what you’ve done with your front porch. We go nuts around here on Halloween, always have. Mike carves all the pumpkins we grow, my son puts out inflatables and makes a haunted house on the deck using black plastic sheeting. We have over 350 kids at our door each year.

    1. Alys, that sounds so fun!! I should do something similar. We’ve never had a haunted house before. I’d love to see a picture of that! What are you dressing up as this year? I’m trying to think of some ideas.
