Man, it feels good to be writing a new blog post!
Yesterday on Facebook one of my blogger friends posted this:
“Is it just me, or is it kinda difficult to get back into the swing of things after traveling a bunch? I find it takes me a little while to get my bearings.”
I’ve been back from Kansas City for four days now, and it’s been a struggle to peel my butt from my office chair…a struggle to get my fingers to type a blog post (I haven’t done any projects!)…a struggle to open my garage door and pull out my tools to work on something.
The struggle is real, yo! LOL
But today, I got out there in the garage and was working on some cute DIY wooden journals.
Someone from Etsy ordered one, and my mom also wanted me to make two more for Christmas gifts.
It felt sooooo good setting up my makeshift workstation in the driveway, ripping through the birch plywood with my circular saw, and drilling clean holes with my power drill!
It’s funny how getting your hands dirty gives you energy, isn’t it? There’s something about creating that just electrifies the soul and gets you out of that “slump.”
I finally feel like I’m getting back to some sense of normalcy!
The Big News – My Duluth Trading Commercial Is Out!
The most exciting thing that happened recently is that the commercial I told you about for Duluth Trading Company, well, it went LIVE! 🙂
If you recall, it was a humbling experience, as I wrote about it over a month ago.
Lots of insecurity about my size compared to the other slim models…but you don’t see any of that insecurity in this commercial! In its quick 30 seconds, all you see are strong women getting work done. Who has time to focus on guts and butts? LOL
You’re probably wondering if these tanks really stay put.
They’re longer and stretchier so they won’t ride up your crack when you’re bending over. Love that!!
I believe this will be airing on TV throughout the year, so I’m super excited about that!
Hopefully, I’ll end up in the catalog! We shall see!
The one thing that’s been awesome about doing these home shows are the live morning news segments I’ve gotten to do.
I’m not sure it’s really resulted in any increased exposure or not. One thing that often happens is that even though we mention Thrift Diving, they never actually put it on the screen. In the past, I’ve found that if you list a site’s .com on the news, you’re more likely to get more traffic from it.
What has been great about doing the live TV segment is that I no longer get nervous before doing them!
Not that I ever got super nervous, but there’s a confidence I have about doing it now. It feels almost…natural… now!
So What’s Next?
Well, I’m itching to do a 30-Day Room Challenge Makeover!
I’m coining this the “Naughty or Nice” Challenge! It’s time to turn that naughty, nasty room into nice!
I haven’t been home long enough to do one, but I’m not going ANYWHERE in November! LOL
I’ll be tackling my master bathroom, which I’ll share the “BEFORE” with you soon.
But in the meantime, if you’d like to sign up, I’d love to have you!
I hope you guys have been good!!
I’m sorry to have been gone for so long, but I’m back now and ready to create some awesome spaces!
Let’s do this!
